Research

I am a developmental scientist specializing in childhood and adolescence, adopting a socio-ecological perspective to examine two major research foci (1) socioecological influences on youth health behaviors, and (2) developmental trajectories to (non)radicalization.

My dissertation intertwines my developmental and socioecological orientations to examine religious intolerance among early adolescents participating in an extremism prevention program in the Kingdom of Bahrain. I examine peer normative influences and how these dynamics shape beliefs and behaviors related to religious intolerance.
