Research


Avery Chahl is a doctoral student in Human Development and Family Studies and a PAMT predoctoral fellow. Avery received her M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University and a B.A. in Psychology with honors, with a minor in Health Communication from The University of Texas.

She is focused on peer relationships in childhood and adolescence, specifically the ways peers can shape well-being and positive youth trajectories, as well as understanding peer influence through network analysis.  She is also interested in how peer relationships can shape substance use and related risk factors. Avery is mentored by Dr. Gregory M. Fosco and Dr. Kelly Rulison.
