Bio
I am a doctoral candidate in Human Development and Family Studies at The Pennsylvania State University, working with Drs. Jennifer L. Maggs and Kelly L. Rulison. My doctoral training focuses on quantitative methodology and prevention/intervention science, and I hold a certification in translational science. I recently completed an NIH T32 predoctoral fellowship in the Prevention and Methodology Training Program funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Currently, I am working on my dissertation which is focused on peer social norms in the context of a youth extremism prevention program.
I completed my M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State and hold a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Health Communications from the University of Texas.
In my free time, I love to travel. I also enjoy reading for pleasure and spending time with my loved ones (including my dog).
Hi, my name is Avery, and I am on the postdoc market!
